I have had goats for two-and-a-half years but am still a newbie to worming. Today, my does came into heat, and our target kidding date is April 6th, so this cycle would be the best one to breed at. We have not dewormed our does for quite a while (last time it was with Albendazole). I was wondering if I should go ahead and breed them now without worming, if I should worm them now or soon after breeding, or if I should worm now, and then breed on their next cycles. We have the Albendazole with us, but it expired in April of this year, and we have Panacur, which expired on September first. Both have been kept in the fridge for a majority of the time. We also have Goat Care-2X medicated pellets. Ivermectin seems to be out of the question, because we are bringing home a collie puppy next week and collies do not tolerate ivermectin whatsoever, so we don't want traces of it in the goat's poop or it sitting on the shelf. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

I would worm before breeding rather than after, Or do a fecal and see what the counts are. I try to avoid any worming the first couple months after the does are bred and during the breeding process.

If I worm now, would I have to wait until the next heat cycle? I hope to use this cycle for breeding. What would you recommend worming with? Thank you!

no you wouldn't have to wait, Well the panacur needs to be at 3 x the label dosage for 3 days in a row,

Personally, I would go with the albendazole. What dosage were you giving it at?
