I dewormed Ethel as recommended within 24 hours after kidding. I used valblazen at 1 ml per 10 lbs which came up to about 12 ml. Pouring it on her grain was a fail. So I put it into a syringe and tried to squirt it into her mouth. Got most of it in her. That was at the evening feeding yesterday. Is there a trick to getting it down easier?

Also the kids stools are orange today and the momma would eat zero grain. Is this from the valblazen? Does the doe need something like goat and sheep drench or cmpk d3 drench (it says it is for freshening)?

Also she had one kid so would the amount of kids affect the time you would start separating at night and milking for your consumption during the day? I was thinking 2 weeks but now am wondering about possibly 1-1.5 weeks starting to separate at night.

o_O Orange kid poop, I am not sure on. Mustard yellow is normal of course but orange? I would be worried though about mom not eating. Have you taken her temp? Did you get a fecal test done?

It's yellow today. She is eating better now. She ate all the grain and enjoyed quite a bit of some alfalfa pellets. I have added more alfalfa hay and pellets to ensure she is getting enough calcium.

There are drenching guns you can get at local farm stores. They have a long tube so that you can maneuver it toward the back of the mouth.
I wish they would find a way to get it in gel form so I wouldn't be so worried about aspiration.
Goats be like little kids. Don't want anything to do with medicine.
