Got a new LED light. Other regular shop light, that was dim, started causing problems & went in the trash.


Amber was bred to NZ/Rex & SF 3-5. And you can now see it in their fur!

Monday-
Lost one of the broken kits in Amber's litter, it was outside of the nest, hiding between wall & water.



Tuesday-
Pedigreed SF, doe 11× buck 3-5.
6wks, 4 days.
Jan 17th, idk why I started to put 16.
Anywho, one doe is almost 5 pounds!



Wednesday-
Figured out why the 2nd grumpy litter tort is a runt...malocclusion. Culled.


Friday-
Two buns moved to cull cage. Grumpy litter & 11's litter weaned to their own cages.
Nests added. I don't think Grumpy took, but 11 is digging up a storm.


Today-
Since feed continues to only go up in price, I have a ton of meat in the freezer & I'm currently breeding for fast growth, it doesn't make much sense to grow out the whole litter. So, I'll weigh the Amber litter & mark the 2 biggest. The rest of them will be culled 2× a day for the LGDs. The culls from yesterday will also be dogfood, as I have no space for them in the freezer. 7 culls.

It looks like Grumpy's 2nd litter grew faster, so, I'll see if the biggest doe in the litter is in the top 3, if so, she'll replace the previously kept Grumpy doe kit. Rest will be dog food. 6 culls.

#11's kits, besides the biggest kit, will be put in the freezer. 4 culls.

The 1st litter doe, Speckle, was bred, we'll see if being a hussy was a good sign or not next month.

I don't think Grumpy is bred. Going to wait until next week to rebreed her. Waited an extra week to breed Lynx & 14. Will do the same with the others, just to slow things down slightly.

#11 made a nest yesterday. Hoping for healthy, live kits. Maybe more of them & that they all grow as fast as the previous litter!

17 off the feedbill over the next week. Rarely cold enough for long term to cull all in one go & cold store them outside. But! Next year, I'll have the current freezer just for rabbits & lamb.

Moved 3 bags of feed into the bin in the barn. 1 left in storage.

Lefty doe & blue broken buck gone. Also feeding a few eggs per LGD, got a huge hoard to get through.

Buck n doe from #11 & choc doe from Grumpy pending sale. Printing pedigrees for the #11 buns.
Might have others to go, but waiting on this sale to go through first.

Red bin eggs are oldest & for the LGDs. Others in fridge, I'm trying to make mayo & eggsalad out of. We eat so few eggs...

Got some weights & pics last night.

It looks like tort & chocolate were does, rest are bucks in Grumpy's litter, so, won't keep any from this batch to replace the black doe from the previous litter.

Blue still has that weird shoulder bump, but winder bottom n filled in loin. I like the spine on broken opal the most, but Righty is 3oz heavier.

There's a discrepancy in In the red amounts on paper vs this thread. Tracked it down to a missed Mutty sale on here. So, red is 35 less. 219-Mutty at 35 makes it 184 in the red.

Then red of $184 - today's 3 bun sale of 140, makes the current In the red $44!
Grumpy's chocolate doe & #11's buck n doe sold.

Going to have to buy feed next week or so. Ugh.
