Ugh. Ended up bringing in the blue Quincy buck, he's 1.5# larger than the doe and neary that much than the buck. Moved the doe out and listed. Holding onto the 2 bucks....

And 2 smallest black kits were put in the cull cage, one from Jet and one from Sky.

I'm back at wondering if I should bother keeping the Tealy buck...But if I'm trying to get their weights up, then I need to cull Tealy buck.

Tealy-12wk, 4.97. 13wk, 5.25.
Quincy-12wk, 5.42. 13wk, 5.63.

Penny kits doing well. She's being a bit protective, but not bad.

I’m curious how you calculate the value of the dog food. It seems like it would be worth a lot more than $4.

I compare it directly to dry dog food.

Actual cost of dog kibble per feeding, $2.025. 6 cups, 1lb 9oz. 45# bag with tax is $61.
Technically, a fraction more, as I did the math for 8oz, not 9oz.

Actual cost of rabbit, has no set value. As I have no concrete buyers at various sizes. And I don't know how much a rabbit eats until it's culled. Definitely more than $2 worth, probably about $3 at the size I prefer to feed it as one meal.

It's always a loss to feed them a rabbit vs kibble, unless the rabbit is raised on greens alone.

Penny is still over protective, but worse still, she's also a nest sitter! Fml.
Looking over my cheatsheets on my phone, I knew it! There's Rex in there! Baymax.
And that's why she's a nest sitter. Genetics! Most of my Rex do it, moreso the Baymax daughters.
Well. Redid their nest some with more fur, put 3 of the fattest kits I ever did see in a temporary nest, and now I'm "shelving" kits. 😑
I may have to fully redo the nest, we'll see. Kits can smell the fur of another's and reject it. What happens? They try to crawl out to find their nest smell. So, I sat there, redirecting the ones that were sure this wasn't their nest any longer and waiting for them to accept it. Eventually, they settled. But tomorrow I'll find out if that's actually true or not...

Gilt kits got to go explore today! Black foster found the nest first. All but 3 Gilt kits found the nest.

Penny kits, the smaller ones before redoing nest.

Then I dumped manure into bins for my garden. Hmm, a bit low, could of waited until tomorrow to be full, but felt like getting it done today.

$317 in the green. 18 in poo? Or should I do a flat 20 either way? Last time, I shoved them in, so maybe it evens out...

Currently $337 in the green.

And the son I'm also holding back. Didn't weigh him, but probably in the 7# range as well.

And I'm working on getting a chocolate Rex...A doe.
Still early chatting about a SF that's chocolate, too.
