I have similar -- but the small end is not as small or straight as yours --- because mine are sort of free -- I keep the hooks off of the rubber bungie cords that die. They've been quite useful in their second lives. Mine probably wouldn't work for your situation though.

Buttons is on her last try. Have better rex, so no point in wasting more feed.
Opal and Royal have great shape, so I'm still trying to get kits out of them, but will give up soon.

Watched intensely as this kit was in deep sleep for 20ish seconds. Eyes closed, nose on ground, out cold, dreaming. Never seen a kit sleep so soundly, so I totally missed recording it.
