I have a 2 year old doe named Whisper that is not interested in grain today... the other goats in the pen all jumped up and ran for it.... Whisper stayed laying down.
I offered her a handfull and she wasnt interested. checked her eyes... she looks fine.
Her weight is good, and she has no sign of a messy bottom... however I did notice yesterday that she is in heat..... she is currently in a breeding pen with 2 other does and one buck.
I havent taken her temp... but its 95 outside today so I would almsot expect her temp to be elevated..
She is drinking water.

Ideas?

I would keep an eye on her. I have slept on in my barn a few times and I noticed that my does will also eat at night. She might just be full. Does she show any other signs?
If she doesn't eat by this evening or late tonight (next day) I would then call my vet.

i moved her to a stall alone so I can keep an eye on her.... she is eating some hay, but still has her ears down and her head low like she just does not feel well... she is standing up, and looking around tho.
Figures that tomorrow would be a holiday.

Heat (environmental temp) can affect all animals and this is what I'm guessing is going on here. Make sure she has plenty of water. Drench her with some electrolytes. And if you can get a fan in the barn it's sure to be helpful.

I lost a turkey today from the heat. Our goats and other livestock are just miserable. I suffered from heat exhaustion myself today.

Thanks Emily... you might be right... she is a mostly black doe, and if she was out grazing in the sun too long she probably overheated.... or maybe since she is in heat the buck chased her around .... the fact that she was not eating but drinking yesterday made me want to wet her down with the hose.... I didnt.
Today she is still up on all 4 feet and nibbling at the hay.... her ears and her head are still sort of hanging.
Thanks for the support guys. She is not worse, and seems somewhat better.
