I am reading her book Natural Goat Care. I have found it absolutely fascinating! What got me interested was a friend who raises her goats that way. She has not wormed her goats for years, because she feeds them the Copper and the dolomite. I wondered if anyone else had tried this and how it worked for you.

I have that book too, but haven't tried that yet either. I will be eagerly awaiting answers too.

I have read that book too and seem to try to tackle more natural/holistic approaches as opposed to pumping animals full of chemicals.. I recently purchased the hoegger's blend of herbs for the worming and toner.. it smells fabulous.. next step will be implementation..

I used their wormer for quite a while. It was fine when I only had a couple goats, but now I can not afford it. IT works really well though.

I know this is an old thread but I, too, wanted to see if anyone uses Pat Coleby's mineral program. I'm sold on the concept and want to use it myself. If you use it, how do you like it? What all do you give free choice?
-sulfur (free choice?), copper (free choice or just in the grain mix?), dolomite (do you sprinkle it or have a container free choice?), seaweed meal (is this the same as kelp?), salt (is there a certain kind?)

Also does anyone know where to source some of this stuff? In particular copper and sulfur

Does anyone keep Vitamin C around for poisoning and have you tried it in a drench? I am curious if it worked for anyone.

Thanks all and sorry for all the newbie questions! :barnie
