Electric fencing conundrum

This is basically what I have going on. I want to connect the 2. Can I just use extra metal wire and connect the 2 right in the middle. Like 1 wire from bottom line of one pasture to bottom line of other pasture?

Yes.... just use some good wire... metal, and connect them. They do not have to make a circle or anything... Most of what I have is single wire going from charger to a section... with a wire off that to another section...

So did as mentioned and not working. Should I connect to each line from pasture 1 to each separate strand on pasture 2? Also Do I need to use wire to connect each line to each other on end of fence circuit on pasture 1 (where I prev had solar charger and connected strand 1 to 2 and 2 to 3)

Working now! One dog got shocked pretty good. But as it's not.visible.will sheep just learn or should I wrap the yellow poly wire back over it?

Without being there to try things, I honestly don't know... If one works, then you connect the wire from the side with the charger, to the other side, there is no reason it should not continue the charge across the wire like it was originally there to start with. Unless it is grounded out somewhere... You are going to have to try each wire separately to find out where it is "not" carrying the charge to .... this is where a cut off switch would be helpful so you don't have to go back to the charger everytime... if the pasture on the right works from the charger to where you have the arrow to connect... and then connected it doesn't work.,...there is something on the "new section" that is causing the problem and will have to be gone over each wire...
AH, see where you got it working...

Poly wire should not be touching the plain wire.... it should be run separately and attached at the end to put a charge on it... or not.... so it is just a VISIBLE barrier... wrapping them will kill the conductivity....

I like to/try to keep a mower width of short cut grass along the fence. It keeps wire free but, also alerts animals of the impending fence. Yes, they do learn that.

Looks to be working this AM too! I saw a lamb run from it (havent seen them get shocked but also havent seen them get out) The dog will be the test later when I am ready to catch her IF she gets out. Fingers crossed because this week has wore me out of fixing fences and catching lambs! I have used Round up and killed all the weeds along fence line and go through and weed eat or pick the little stray weeds almost as needed.

As far as the bottom line I was trying to make it more visible for sheep but Im going to leave it as it with the bottom metal wire only. Hopefully everyone will just learn real quick!

I’m glad it is finally working for you.

My advice for what it’s worth, is to start buying a roll of sheep and goat wire every so often. Any occasion for a gift should be T-posts, treated wood posts for H braces, gate posts and corner posts. A roll of sheep and goat wire is 330’ long. Use taller T-posts and run 2 strands of hot wire at the top for a 5’ fence.

Get your outer parameter securely fenced one roll at a time. It will take awhile, but will be so worth it. It took us 2 years to fence 8 acres, but that included inside fences too. Now I have 25 acres. Been here 2 years, have 2 fields fenced with one to go-that needs brush and trees cut out of it. It may take me 2 years just to finish that. But then I will have a secure fence that I feel good about.

HAHA I love this plan! I did get a 300ft roll and going to be working on street side first. Our last property I did something similar and by the time I left it was perfect! Very hard to start over and go through all this. But glad I got tons of good info here. Once my hands heal some from wire burn I will get more fence up.
