BIG difference this morning.. only down to 52 overnight, and already 60... Grey cloudy skies but not much in the way of actual rain before mid afternoon according to the radar... That's good... will get outside here and do a few things with the plants .
Got to get the bottles made and head up there... get the couple of bags of feed over into the forester to take up to the barn, also...

Storms here woke me up several times, my hoop hut is still standing. Watching Ruby, bottle lamb, mouthing the potty pad. I’ve got 3 toddlers that it’s ok to put in a dog crate.

Going to storm through Wednesday night, another reason I wanted them inside. Out in the hut and field with basically no mom to lead them out of the rain, could be bad. Maybe I’m paranoid, but these are 2 registerable ewes and so important to me. Some moms continue to mother their babies when you bottle feed them, some don’t.

first ones out of the new bulls we got in late 2022 and used for the first time last June.....
How do they look? I aways take a hard look at first offspring with a new sire. You never know if the cross will "click" or not. :fl
But I am thinking I want a housekeeper so I can just come in and collapse in a CLEAN somewhat organized house... because nothing gets done in the house most of the time...and since I do not like doing housework, it really does not get kept up with.....
You might be able to deduct the cost of a housekeeper on your farm. When i was doing licensed daycare, I deducted my every two-week cleaner and the weekly gardener off the taxes since they were necessary to keep everything good for the daycare. I cleaned every day too but the housekeeper did some heavier cleaning and while she was there I could do my paperwork,
but I don't have anything I can cut it with and asking DS is a lost cause... haven't seen him all weekend...
Too bad he doesn't see the danger of the metal laying on the ground. What about cutting it with a batter skill saw with a metal cutting blade? Get the salvageable part and have DS clean up the rest.
he is in this "depression" mode...
Can he go on Prozac or another depression medication? The Prozac doesn't make you jump for joy, but it does help to even out the ups and downs.

@Margali ... going to see if DS is supposed to get it out of the field to go on his scrap metal trailer... if so, might be able to get him to cut me out a couple of pieces for temps roofs.... I can't very well advertise and have someone come get it off property that isn't mine...DS might have told him he would go get it to get the scrap metal...

Getting ready to make up milk and go to feed the calves... Need to talk to DS about possibly taking the big calf and the couple of cull cows on Saturday...
Got the asparagus planted in a "protein lick" tub because the kiddie pool is too shallow for the length of the roots... They are crowded but it will give them a chance to develop the roots "deeper".... and gets them planted for now. It won't be that bad to turn it on it's side and be able to kinda roll it some and get them to come out without too much damage I hope...

Also got the white peony and the bleeding heart plants and the pink lily of the valley plants into pots also. Eventually they will get put in the ground when I have the spaces ready for them... The bleeding heart plant that was in a pot last year and started to come up did get hurt by the cold snap we had and the part with the flowers turned black... the plant didn't get hurt too much so maybe next year. That real warm few days hurt some of these cool spring plants as they came up too much too fast and were still a little tender when it dropped back into the 20's....
Did not move the daffodils or anything yet, they are in pots so are okay for now... I want to get out there along the split rail fence to put in some of them... the yellow tulips are blooming and they are pretty... got another pot of "fringe/feathered petal" tulips and they are close to opening up... be interesting to see what colors they are.

It sprinkled a little bit, and then stopped. Cloudy and grey skies all day but comfortable in a long sleeve T-shirt. Supposed to do that again into tomorrow and then some more serious rain coming in for the day on Thursday.
DS said we are going to look at the bull on Thursday aft, at 3 or so... I will be home from chiropractor before then.

Went and got the milk samples and all the paperwork so will get that into the computer this evening.

Headed up to feed bottles...

I am hoping that I can plant some daffodil and tulip bulbs here in Texas. The winters are not cold enough in California for them to come up and bloom. They need a certain amount of winter chill. There are some sort of bulb plants in the barn yard that I want to dig out next year and replant in flowerbeds. There are some in the back yard too, but the gardener mows over them. LOL
