Got down to 17 last night. Talk about crazy weather swings... Ground hard as a rock... Waiting on DS to come up to feed so I can watch the gate... then heading up to do Betsy and stupid black cow and calves while it is easy to get around in there. Started the car so it will be a bit warmer to sit in watching the gate and then up at the cow/calves barn. Will kick Betsy back out since DS is going to feed some more hay just because of the rain and mess coming the next few days.

Sun is out but only supposed to get up in the 40's so not as warm. The wind blew last night and it was just flat out cold...

Weather forecast is now saying more icing in the morning, up to 1/4th inch or so and then changing to cold rain all day. WHOOPEE.... NOT...:mad::mad::th:th:th:th

Cattle buyer is coming 8 a.m. Tuesday to get the steers with DS taking the 3rd load. He said we will sort out the heifers on Mon afternoon and get them out and anyone we don't want in there, then take the last few momma cows that have steers, out Tuesday morning. So that they are not walking the fences and bawling all night. Will get in my cow with the twins and that other heifer that need the 2nd shot of lute also and then kick them out. Looks like my cow will get held for a couple months and then get put with the bull in late May out to pasture with the rest of the cows. She will lose a year... but she will have the twins to pay for her "keep"

He said he had already fed 4 rolls of hay in the one field so that he does not have to go up in the wet this weekend, and took the silage cart up to the cows with fall calves in the back that he could not get into yesterday. Said he would be this way in about an hour but would let me know. I will go open gates and fences... might go up to snyder's and open them now since they won't be anywhere near the gates since the hay is down over the hill in the back and they have not been up near the elec fence "gate" since the snow... and it is crusted now so no fun to walk through. Then he can drive right in after feeding here at grant's, behind me.

Gotta go, he is headed this way

My savior, @Mini Horses for the pics... I am sending her another, I have sent it twice and somehow it doesn't want to go through. (it is operator error...) It is a further away shot of the poultry run after I got the "rafter pieces" put up... and the snow... The pic above was on Monday as I was getting started getting all the pieces put together... It was sunny mid day, in the low 60's... The next day we got the 8-10 inches of snow... the pics of the cattle when I was watching the gate that those steers were trying to sneak out as he was feeding the silage...

Sure wish your DS could get permanent disability so he could just farm full time.
If he takes permanent disability, he cannot farm... talked to disability lawyer and another friend/lawyer... so by being "retired" he can do things.... and still dealing with the workman's comp stuff...
If you get permanent disability, through the state system... they basically want you to just become a vegetable and do nothing until you die...
