The sheep are not happy but they are surviving. We have gotten 5 1/2 " in the last 24 hours and it has been non stop since about 2:00 last night. We have had the big wind gusts but so far we haven't had any damage to fences or structures. We have some trees down not surprisingly since the winds plus the saturated ground makes it unstable. There have been tornadoes all around middle Tennessee, but none really close to us.

Been up since about 5:45.... Wind has been blowing / gusting all night long. A few sprinkles, looks like the rain will start around 7:30 a.m. on the radar... This storm is moving more NNE so when it does get here, we will be in the wet for hours. Kinda scared to go out and look at chicken run pen... the only saving grace is the wind can mostly blow through it.. unless it gets under the roof sections and picks it up... let's hope not. Hope the plastic on the one end/corner is intact for the sake of the roosters... It sure is blowing hard out there...

Never did confirm with DS last night about going to the Maple Festival today... we talked about the weather and that we would be mostly inside if we went... I wasn't sure, so got up and got dressed and all... but since we were supposed to leave around 6:15 on Sat... I sorta assumed the same today... I don't think he is coming...As hard as it is blowing, it probably isn't safe to be driving anywhere either..

Our high of 61 yesterday was nearly the low overnight... it is sitting at 61 right now...got down to 59. Temps look to stay pretty much the same most of the day, as they are now.

Wow, @Mike CHS 5 1/2 inches rain... sure hope we don't get that much... DS got the fertilizer spread across the road and on some other fields... a good rain would be beneficial... 5 inches would not...

Expect we will lose power with all this wind....

Dang...that's coming my way. Sounds like our weather forecasters have been on target. 😖

Wind blowing chicken run -- fill a couple buckets with water & tie to it for weight. Should help.

I'll walk & survey wind issues here in a few minutes. In case.

So far so good. Wind did take the plastic off... but it was only stapled on and not that sturdily... going to throw a couple baling string "ropes" over the top and tie down to trailer next to it which is really really heavy... it seems to be doing okay though. Wish it was attached to the 2x6 skids I want under it... I did put one of the roof panels from the next one that is unboxed. against the one section and have several boards wedged against it to hold it against the side where the plastic was.. as a wind break... We got a quick shower... not too much, and the wind has lessened a little bit. I had to take down my wind chimes... several of the "tubes" have broken the strings that hold them on, the wind also tied one up in a huge "knot" that I brought in and untangled after about 20 minutes... Took the bird feeder down.... it looked like a kite in a hurricane swinging around...

Without the wind chimes, and looking at the bird feeder, it is hard to tell how hard it is blowing without going out in it.

DS texted me back after I sent him one about "not?" going this morning.. and said that with the wind and rain it was probably not a good idea... so..... whatever... I want to go, but not in the mood to go alone now. Although it might not be so crowded with the crappy weather, but it is a 1 1/2 hr drive over at least. Guess I will just go make myself a late breakfast here... Was looking forward to buckwheat pancakes....

It is more windy than rain out there. Going to find something to bake... maybe bread pudding... have the bread and got milk the other day... Maybe watch a movie??? Got all the clothes to fold too... Plenty to do, not in the mood.... oh well....Life goes on...

Going in to make the bottle and go up to the cows. The wind has been something... but we have had about .0001 of an inch from a quickie shower earlier... The line has split, gone mostly north ... so the eastern part of Va is getting it... a little in middle / central Va and over against the WV/VA line... the sun has actually been out with all this wind... NOT what we were thinking or hoping for...Might get a little bit but it looks to be going nearly north and not into the valley here...
Woulda coulda SHOULDA gone to highland... They might have had a little more wet, but not alot.

OH WELL...

Got the 550 cow herd set to test on Monday aft... and another herd on Tuesday aft... don't need the meters.. the farm that borrows them occasionally, that I dropped them off the other day... hasn't "had a chance to test" ( they have had 4 days).... and asked if they could use them one day this week... I just texted them and said I would not be using them this week... both farms have their own samplers and electronic stuff... so won't have to do any set up...
DS has dr appts on wed and thurs... and I think he is going to ship the bulk of the heifers on Friday... they were up on this past weeks market report that just came out... so not going to deal with anyone.... take them to the sale and sell them... most 4 wts are bringing nearer to 3.50, 5 wts are in the 2.80-3.25, and some 6 wts brought right at 3.00... better than what we quoted the one guy. Take what we get and be done with it...

Time to go up the hill... sun is out again... OH WELL.....

I'm getting storm from south, moving NE. Looks like a split off of what you're seeing. 🤷 Rains just getting into pounding steady mode, still big winds. Showing all night, slowing 11ish... Wait & see. No sun here since yesterday. Plus temps dropping 10-15*.
