You are nicer than I am. I wouldn’t get in a car with the Psycho sperm donor to my children. No way, no how. Ever. We don’t speak. Sometimes circumstances put us at the same place, like a funeral, and I’m polite. But truly, food, water, and air is wasted on a pile of 💩.
And if i did, it would have to be my car so I could throw him out somewhere along the way and leave him there.

@Baymule , that's why I don't go with DS and his "ex"... I would want to throw her out of the car.... as for my EX, he is so frail physically, a bent over old man... still somewhat sarcastic, but has mellowed some... he cannot "hurt me" like he did all those years ago. BESIDES, he is worth alot more than I am and DS will inherit it, so helping to keep things a little more smooth for him in that way... and this way my ex tends to be less maddening for DS to deal with for the day....and I can find someone to mentor and leave my small inheritance to, instead of DS......he certainly won't need it....LOL.

Besides that, it is a benefit for me to not have to waste the gas to go to the show... I'm also practical... he will be decent enough... DS will drive...
AND I just found out that one of our hay customers needs some hay... DS is going to load the trailer, haul it over and drop it off on the way, so will have his truck to drive... and I can drive it if DS gets a headache or something... They might get some of it unloaded, but she is a nice person, so we can unload the rest on way home in just a little bit of time, and then that saves DS a trip over on Sunday... it's a little more than halfway to the show....

Still it is funny....

Was 51 last night... partly sunny out there now. I will bring in the clothes in just a little bit and then get started on the chicken coops... since the possible rain is supposed to come in later this afternoon and I won't be out there working on it then.
I need to move the feed into the back of the ranger p.u. as I can back up close to the barn door and drop it over the gate into the "hay/feed stall" area of the little barn at the nurse cow pasture... other wise I have to lift the "hatchback" of the explorer, then carry it and try to lift it over the gate... The gate is fixed up and tied closed and it is a royal PITA to open it with the cows around there... and keep them out... much easier to back up close and put the bags over it and not fight off my "helpful cows"... that is the one downfall of dealing with them up there....they HAVE to be right there to help all the time....

Time to get out there...

Did not get much done outside... The sun was out for awhile... but the wind came up and although the thermometer said 73 in the sun... I doubt the actual temp was much over 60... with the wind it was just cold. I was out there for a little bit and finally said this is not going to work..... it tried to blow over the part I had already gotten together... the end with the door and the first section on each side... so I propped it up so it couldn't blow it over again... Gave up on that. It was just cold out there.
I had to chase 2 pair of jeans that got "torn off" the clothesline... at least they are all good and dry...

Went up to the nurse cow pasture and of course the both cows came in the barn... fed the calves their grain and grain for the cows, fed the calf the bottle and then after the cows went out, put some extra grain in that side and the calf went to eating some and I opened the inside gate so they all could go on either side. Put a 1/2 bale of hay in the bunk too for the calves to pick through. There is some coarse hay in this sq bale so what they don't eat I will pull out and drop on the floor in there...

DS called a little bit ago... we will meet at the barn around 6... he is going to close them out of the barn, then feed some silage, then open it up and let them in. Then we will sort them... he wants to get to town about 8 or so... it's about 1/2 hr so we will sort through them and decide who he is selling... I think I only have a couple heifers in there... I will have to look.
He will drop them off, then come home and then feed hay and whatever needs doing, get the hay loaded on the trailer I guess... then go back to town for the sale later. Then he is going to have to get up really early to go to get his father and go drop off the trailer and then go to the poultry show... Going to be a short night.

I have a farm scheduled for Tues aft... Wed aft/Thurs morning (2 x test) and one for Thurs aft... not my idea of fun either... wish the one had wanted Monday and not Thurs... but, at least the one Thurs aft will set up the meters after I drop them off ... when I get them out of the farm Thursday morning...

I am going in to try to find something to eat. I ate yogurt awhile ago... think I will make a grilled cheese sandwich or something warm...

I love grilled cheese sandwiches. After I graduated from HS I did short order type cooking for over a year. I still enjoy a gooey grilled cheese on rye, with sliced ham and horseradish mustard.
:love

Well... Sat night. It's been a long day... but it was okay...

Up at 4, left here at 4:30 and we went to DS's father's house ... my ex. Helped him load the chickens in his car, then DS drove and we got there around 7:30 or so and he got the chickens cooped in and all that.
My DS is still the most negative, "glass nearly empty" kind of person... but oh well....
The saddest thing is he is soooo bent over that he cannot straighten up... I mean nearly bent in half... But he won't do any exercises or anything else ... PT is a "waste" in his opinion... and he continues to get worse and weaker and weaker.
There were some nice birds there... a few rare breeds. A "La Fleche" hen won best Continental, a class of birds.... like Plymouth Rocks and R I Reds and New Hampshires are American class..... which was a HUGE accomplishment... some real nice BIG White Plymouth Rocks...
No New Hampshires in either large fowl or bantams. None of the "Vorwerk" ones I would like to find either... But it was a nice show... About 500 birds I would guess... some real good quality overall.

Came home and left ex at his house, after DS carried his chicken boxes... into his coop, so he could put them in their cages... We came home in my car and that was it...EXCEPT.... Ex tried to call DS on our way and then DS tried him back... figured he must have left something in his father's car... come to find out he fell... and wound up with the rescue squad getting called... have that life alert or something similiar... DS got called about 7:30... and had to go all the way back there... neighbor came also. EX is too da$#@d stubborn to accept DS's help, then DS winds up having to go back and put more time in than if he had just let him help to start with. When DS got the call 10 minutes after we left, I asked if he wanted to go back, and he said no, his father probably found something he left in the car, then won't answer the phone if DS doesn't pick up right away when he calls... and DS calls back... something told me we should go back, but DS knows him better than me so I said okay... EX overdid it today, would not go sit down but used his rolling walker/seat thing and would not even sit down on it....:he:he:barnie:barnie:barnie:somad:somad:somad:smack:smack:smack.
So, he is home, and DS texted me and said he has some scrapes but okay... It's not going to be long and he is not going to be able to manage by himself anymore... he has a housekeeper that comes in and a neighbor that comes and helps feed the chickens he has a couple days a week... but DS said he needs to get himself out there and do some things still, or he will just completely fall apart... but he cannot be gracious about accepting any help when he gets in a "I can do this" type of mood... and he just can't.

So that was my day. They had some other activities there at the Meadowlands Complex... had a competition where people ride horses and shoot ballons.... have to run an obstacle type course... some of them were really really good... some were more beginners, but that is pretty hard to do... Spent some time over watching that going on, while they were judging the different poultry classes...

The wind blew pretty hard and there were high wind warnings, for trailers and such... on the interstate when we were coming across the Blue Ridge Mountains there... along where the Appalachian Trail runs... pretty serious wind gusts..

I'm tired and I am going to bed...

Sunday morning... NOT up very early... I was tired after all day out in the sun, walking etc... and the little thing of up at 4 a.m..... I don't do that very often anymore... After over 50 years of up and out long before dawn, in the barn to milk, then to testing, as well as late nights of waitressing inbetween, I "sorta" like not having to get going so early...
36 overnight... Sun is out, not as much breeze at this time. Supposed to cloud up late and possible showers overnight into tomorrow morning.. Don't think it is going to be much but supposed to be widespread area for about 12+ hours...
We need rain, it is dry. There are several brush/wildfires south of here... 20-300 acres in several different spots.

Yeah, my ex is his own worst enemy.. always has been... But he also does not do anything to help himself either..
I have gotten rather lazy this past winter, and my stamina and strength has suffered for it... so I am working on some exercising now to try to lose some of this "flab" and get some energy and stamina built back up. It takes twice as long to get back to what you gave up... GRRRR

I am going to go out and work on the 2nd "chicken run" since the wind has died down alot... Try to get it as finished as I can... DS was going to replace the rotten board on the one roof panel that the termites/rot had messed up... actually from the first set I had opened up... I just used all good ones to finish the first one that the 4 roosters are in at night... I also am going to get that other one out today since it looks to be a decent day, and at least get it started to put put together so I can see what I am working with. Didn't come home with any birds yesterday... so maybe get "prepared" ahead of time???? That's not standard procedure for some of us :hide:hide:hide

It's up to 55 so good time to get out there and get started...
