This is a feeder I made from an old water heater. This could also be used for water.

Here it is in use. It is about 50 lb but they still toss it around.

I cut up a water heater too but didn't put legs on it I just threw it on the ground, works out well especially now with my pigs being smaller still, they never spill they will step on it or push it down so it tilts toward them but not enough to spill, it's working great now their getting big enough I've got to throw the other half the tank in hand have 2 troughs, for water I use nipples I much prefer an auto waterer to hauling water that they spilled right away

work in progress. They like to put their front feet in it, and if it's close to empty, they're pushing it off the stand. It's a 55 gal heavy-duty plastic barrel. Since this pic, I've buried the base half-way. I've got it positioned where I can spin the barrel on the stand and pour feed in, then spin it back around for them.
Next modification will be to fix a rope around the lip end of the barrel to "secure" it to the base. We'll see if that works and how long it lasts, too.

Someone liked my post recently, so decided to update.

I still dump food onto dry ground or soak feed and then put it into rubber pails.

Water is a 5gal bucket with a hog nipple on it. Bucket wired to the fence.

Feeder v2
v1 was just not working great. They pushed it off the stand almost every day. The bottom just touches the ground, which is dug out maybe 4-5". I'll probably add a rope from the center front to be able to pull it up to the fence to fill. Also thinking about cutting two half moon dividers to divide it into thirds to cut down on the fussin' and fightin'.
What do you say, herdites?

Trying to stay a step ahead of the pigs is quite the challenge isn't it? Just when you think you're pretty smart a __________ (insert farm animal here) shows you that you aren't as smart as you think you are.
The feeder looks good.
