Ridin' The Range
Thanks! I didn't really see any signs. She seemed to be herself yesterday morning at feeding time then when we went back out later in the day... babies. No discharge and I guess her ligs were a little loose now that i think about it.... But I didn't think they were THAT loose.jerebear7 said:Did the doe show all the signs that she was going to give birth? Like loose ligaments, discharge, etc.? I'm just asking out of curiosity, I have a Nigerian doe first timer as well. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with the baby goat! She's cute!
I haven't had any luck getting her to suckle on mom. It makes no sense. If i hold her she is constantly pushing at my chin and trying to suck on my neck. If i put a finger in her mouth she goes to town, but I get mom's teat in her mouth and she just sits there. Mom accepts her, wagging her toung at her and licking her all over. It is starting to warm up outdoors so I think I will try to leave her with mom for a little while. I'm still milking mom and feeding her about a half an ounce every hour or two. I have tried to give her more but that is all she will take at a time.
