Hey everyone! I orginally had Daisy in the pen with our buck on Oct 20. She didn't come back into heat after that so I thought she was bred. Well, one day I went in to feed Beau and she slipped in behind me (always after that extra mouthful of feed). Well, Beau jumped at the chance and she stood for him so I thought well crap! That was Nov 20 which I thought was weird because it wasn't anywhere near the 18-23 day cycles. Then I was told that sometimes when a doe first comes into heat that they may come in again 1-2 weeks later and then start the usual cycle which would make sense time wise. I don't know if that's true or not :hu I've been feeling for udders on the 2 does that I know are pregnant and was kind of surprised over the weekend when I felt Daisy. So I went out today and shaved her udder area (don't laugh at how bad it looks) and I also shaved Sara. I know for sure that Sara was bred on Nov 17, that was the only day she was with a buck and never again. I had both girls confirmed by biotracking and both are for sure pregnant. Anyhow, both girls are first freshners. What do you guys think, could she have taken on the 1st cycle and the 2nd time she stood for him was just because she was going for the feed?! I hate not knowing! :barnie Daisy's udder just seems so much more developed than Sara's does. It just seems like it is so early for her to have an udder the size that it is and still be two and a half months out! After looking at the pics it seems much more noticabe in person compared to the pictures :smack Ugh I swear I'm not crazy. Wait... maybe I am...

Edited to ask how you guys think their udders look so far are they going to be nice ones :hide

I think both look pretty nice. Sara's teat length and size look a little better, but you will have to wait until they get closer to kidding.

Sometimes it takes their bodies a little while to know that they are pregnant, so they may have cycle again, and they also may release another egg during that heat. Google "superfetation". It means she could kid, say, in a month, and then drop more kids a few weeks later. It's rare, but it can happen.

Thanks for the info! I'll definately check into that. That would of course be my luck to have some kind of crazy freaky thing happen during our first kidding! LOL
