Ridin' The Range
I was thinking of free-ranging kits planned for meat for that reason (meaning I don't want my breeders exposed to parasites/diseases from wild rabbits). I'm not sure exactly what the risks are though. I do bring cut grass and clover from my fenced backyard for the breeders in their cages, and they love it.
If you really want to put your rabbits safely on the ground, it might be worth finding out how long parasites/diseases remain viable. Maybe you can fence an area to keep wild rabbits out and at some point the area might be able to be considered "clean"?
