I noticed a lamb with a frothy mouth this afternoon and very slow moving. I googled it and all I could find was frothy bloat. So I mixed up the recipe of 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 tsp baking soda, and pepto bismol. I stirred it up and gave him some of it in a drencher. There is no change. In fact, he is hovering over the water pail in the barn and doesn't want to move. He actually has no signs of bloat around his abdomen. I checked the left side of his body and there is nothing different. If I stare at him, he seems to almost hiccup or breathe funny every few seconds. He appears to be in pain. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to lose him, he's one of my favorites. We thought maybe he ate too many apples today and is just feeling sick from that. He won't eat the oat straw or any minerals.
