Sooooo, even though I've been raising goats for many years and have been a member here for quite some time, I've never had a dedicated kidding thread. So, here goes.

I've got a few pregnant ladies in waiting around here. Probably 15-17ish. We could start as early as this weekend, but I expect it won't start in earnest until maybe 2-6(ish) or a few days beyond. This kidding season may well stretch out until May with gaps here and there. A large majority of the does are bred to the new Boer buck. May have one or two that didn't settle, but time will tell. The remainder of the does are bred to Hank, the Myotonic buck.

Nothing exciting going on today. Several have large udders and very soft ligaments, but it doesn't seem to be a go yet.

This "special" little gal isn't too far away from d-day. Thank goodness - she needs something to focus on besides getting herself into a mess!

Well, looky what we got! Little gal decided to take matters into her own hands and deliver while we were gone to DH's doc appt. this afternoon. Didn't have mom in a kidding stall either - boo for delivering in the dirt. Got his cord iodined as soon as I got home and they're in a nice clean kidding stall now.

This little guy is 100% Myotonic. Quite a sturdy little fella!
