Update: Ron is in a real room, out of the ER. It took 36 hours. The three nurses who got him settled in were absolute sweethearts, even making sure Ron was washed up and tended before leaving the room. He was so much calmer, too. I felt safe to leave him in their hands, to come home to sleep in my own bed.

And that's what I am about to do.

Thank you for the support, it means a lot.

Heading over in a few. I woke up at 5:30 (usual) rolled over and slept until 7:30. I feel SO much better. I have a call in to check on Ron, not gotten a call back but I know they're busy. Checked the flock, fed the ferals, made coffee...NOT in that order.

Hospital is a total 💩 show.

Hospitalist on case is an idiot. And officious.

And thinks that I'm stupid. She's prescribing antipsychotic med to calm him down. Head of neurology told me to never give drug during day, only at night. She's using as if it were a sedative.

All they're doing is running tests, no one is thinking outside of protocols.

Nurses are nice.

I'm praying.

Better keep a very close watch on him. You might have to throw a fit to get him properly treated.

Already have. Problem is I don't know the physicians on the family medicine side. I have requested from a friend the name of the hospitalists' supervisor.
