Is there another hospital? Take him out and go there if you can. A hospital is not a prison. Down here we have several and there are two that you absolutely do NOT go to.

They're all part of the same (corporate) system, unfortunately.

I am going in after I check on the animals and brew coffee.

So, are they actually treating the UTI? And calming? Like what happened to low dose valium? Did it go the way of plain old aspirin? Really, doctors! don't reinvent the wheel.

Sorry for you both.

The problem is he's diabetic and has had decreasing kidney function for years. The options for sedation are limited because they all put a strain on his kidneys. I was told they did put him on an antibiotic, it's being added through the port in his wrist, using syringes. I've seen them do it.

I'm addressing the fluids when I get there. I did get a cup of Jello in him before I left yesterday, but it took hours.

His doctor is sick, has been out all week, was obviously unwell on Monday when he had Ron worked in for an appointment. No one read the test results from the office visit.

Good thought, though.
