My boss is checking on the FMLA, to see if it covers me for a couple more days, to help get more done with his "estate". She said she has no issues with me not returning until next week.

DME company came to pick up the hospital bed. I gave the delivery man an unopened can of popcorn that was going to be part of Ron's Christmas presents. He was happy about it.

Social Security has been contacted, as have the local government entities.

Now I am just waiting on the death certificates.

Whew.

🐓🐓🐓🐓

Earlier Son carried the feed to the shed, and put it in a tote for me. 🥰

It's getting really cold outside, wind is frigid.🥶

Feral cats were borderline frantic for more food.

Flock gobbled the bits of ham and fat that I offered.

And I'm actually going to put on some leggings for the next dog walk. I am a skirt gal, rarely put on pants, but I am this evening! 🧊🥶🌬️

I found a photo of Ron from about 15 years ago:

The garden area he's standing next to is where my raised bed gardens end. It's currently overgrown, and I am hoping to get it dug up and blueberry bushes planted there.

And I found this as well...

That's my father's dad, a successful salesman but he always wanted to be a farmer. My artist grandmother was not interested in being a farmer's wife...think Green Acres. They compromised: he had an acre under cultivation during WWII, and had his teenaged son handle raising the chickens. I never knew him, he died 71 years ago, before my parents were married.

Got a call late this afternoon, from the funeral director. He said that the death certificates and Ron's urn were ready. Then he said one of his employees was headed out and going to be close by, did I want them to bring the stuff? Yes!

How thoughtful.
