This will be my first winter with alpacas. I plan on bringing them in the barn at night... but during the day they will be outside with a "quanzi" building for shelter (bedded with straw and opening facing south), will this work? and.. do I ever need to get blankets for them? I blanket my horses when it get about 10 to 15 degrees below zero.

They should probably be fine. As long as they can get out of elements including wind. I have only had to put coats on older alpacas that just don't grow their fleece well.

I think you should remember that alpacas come from the mountains in S. America....they are used to colder temperatures. That's why the have the fleece in the first place. (My gelding last January would lay down in the stream every now and then...he is fine, I think he just liked being covered in ice and making me upset with him!)
The shelter you have should work just fine. They only need a place to get out of the wind.
And, as ksalvagno said, only older, unhealthy and cria need to be blanketed.
