So I got the CD&T vaccination from TSC, but I'm not sure on the dosage? It's 10-dosage bottle, and it says 2 cc's per goat, but it doesn't say anything about the weight of the goat. o_O Mine are Nubian Pygmy's, and one we know for sure is a kid (born in December). Don't know if they had any shots at all, to be honest. Missy-goat was given to us without anything known about her, and we bought Sam off of Craig'sList from goat breeders.

So, do I vaccinate them like they have never had any? Any recommendations on the dosage for their weight/size? Oh and It says you have to toss the bottle after first usage, but there will still be 8 doses left! How long will it keep in the fridge after the seal is broken?

Thanks!! ;)

The dosage doesnt mention weight because weight doesnt matter. Dose is 2 cc regardless of age or weight.

And the generally recommended practice for animals with unknown history is to vaccinate them as though they havent gotten the vaccine.

I keep the bottle, even if opened, up until the expiration date. You can call the manufacturer for more recommendations on this.

You can do their initial shot and then the booster 3 weeks later.

Then you wouldn't boost for another year, so I wouldn't keep the remainder of the vaccine that long.

You just have two goats? So you would end up using at least 4 doses. You could probably hold onto it awhile in case you get more, but I wouldn't keep it a whole year.

We just opened our bottle, our last doe is due at the end of June- we won't be giving shots to her kid(s) until July/Aug- is that okay for the bottle to be around that long? Also, is there any length of time not to drink(for humans) the doe's milk if she needed one after kidding?

I really don't know for sure. I probably would.
I don't know about withdrawal for the does.

I believe slaughter withdrawal is 21 days. I think milk withdrawal is normally shorter for most medications but I would hold off for at least 21 days. Again contact the manufacturer for their recommendation.
