Here's another welcome from the big state of Texas!

So nice to have you join us. I, too, am on BYC (Devonviolet2). And I LOVE my chickens! Since Feb. Of 2015, we have had 16 hens and one turkey hen (that is currently giving us eggs ), give or take a roo or two. In Sept. we ordered 35 chickens & 6 Pekin ducklings. Twenty five of them are meat birds.

DH & I used to live a few hours north of you, near York, PA. We moved to Texas (in June of 2014), to be close to our daughter, who lives in Dallas.

It's so nice to have you join us. As others have said, we have a great group here, who are more than happy to answer questions. And you shouldn't have to wait long for an answer.

No, not nearly, but many(myself included) like the slower pace of things.

Welcome from CA. Your chickens are gorgeous. What breed are the brown and white speckled ones; very pretty.

There may not be as many members on BYH as on BYC so we may be small but we are mighty. This is a great group of people.

Speckled sussex? Jubilee Orpingtons?

Thank you for all the welcomes and compliments on my flock! I love them! The brown and white spotted ones are the Speckled Sussex as many have guessed, one of my favorites! I agree that the slower pace is nice, BYC is so hard to keep up with, I don't know how the mods seem to be able to keep it such a family friendly place with allllllll those posts! BYC is currently down, so I came to the second best spot. Lol

Thanks DutchBunny! Do you have a similar name on BYC? I feel like I recognize the username. I see you love 21 pilots, ME TOO! I sang stressed out at Karaoke night last night, and then I sang ride. Thanks, I love that picture! They aren't so cute anymore. Now they are 200# pigs that currently have me crippled.
