Goat with compound fracture, how do I help?

I have a mini Nubian buck born June 6th 2023. I found that his leg was quite swollen, and he didn’t put any weight on it. He also always stayed in the corner of our barn, not getting up unless he HAS to. I went into his pen today to inspect his leg, and we discovered that the bone had almost to fully cracked and is sticking out slightly. We’ve come to the conclusion that he most likely has a compound fracture. Am I gong to be able to help him and bandage him?? If so, how?? Thank you all so much.

For something like that, My opinion is vet...xrays.... and set it, if it is a compound fracture and "sticking out slightly"... I would not be attempting that at this point, it is already swollen and is going to be infected because it has been exposed to air... Antibiotics are a necessity....

You can’t fix this. Only a vet can reset it and provide the antibiotics for infection. When a break has punctured the skin, it lets in all kinds of bacteria that can fester and cause infection.
If you can’t afford a vet your other option is put him down. The vet can put him down and dispose of the carcass for an extra charge. Or you can shoot him. The meat can be salvaged, if you can’t bear to eat him, then feed your dogs. Your other option is to do nothing and he will be in pain and misery.

Sorry to be so blunt, but it’s just the facts. I’ve been there and it’s not pleasant. My favorite ewe and foundation for half my flock, slipped on ice and shattered her leg. I would have paid anything to save her but the vet said with punctured skin, massive infection would set in, she would have to be suspended in a sling and no guarantee that she would heal or even survive. She would be in pain and misery. He recommended euthanasia and I agreed. It tore my heart out, I loved her so much.
