The vet took a quick look at her when he was checking on the other goats. He thinks she had a little fracture but it looks like it almost corrected itself on its own. He said the hair might grow back or it may not, it the hair heads died from the excessive swelling that was there.
Hi. I know that this is a year later, but maybe you’ll still answer 🤞 I had twin does born two weeks ago, and it was -18 degrees the morning after they were born (and well into the negatives for the week following). I feel horrible, but they both ended up with frostbitten ears. I have noticed one of them favoring a leg. After doing some research, I realized that her hoof must have gotten frostbitten also. I’m not sure the severity of it, so I will probably just have to wait and see. But I want to know if the blukote kept infection away? Her leg doesn’t seem affected very high up, only like a centimeter past the front of her hoof looks like it might be loosing fur. Did your doelings legs end up shriveling up? Or does she have full use of her leg again? I’m just kinda wondering if my doe will loose her whole hoof or what. But as I said before, it’s hard to know how severe she was frostbitten, so I’ll probably just have to wait and see…
