Chillin' with the herd
Hi All,
So I think the title says it all.. we are going through the dreadful period of bad tasting milk. The last time we milked our goat for well over a year and a half the milk tasted good except for the occasional off taste which seemed to have been caused by feeding the goats to much browse. Well our goat kidded last month and we started to milk her her two weeks ago. Sadly instead of nice creamy milk we are getting something that tastes more along the line of goat pellets
. I think this is interesting because I have read that taste can be affected by sanitation and this is the first year that we have a relatively separate milking area rather then milking in the dormitory! I originally thought it could yet again be the browse I had been feeding them but after having stopped giving them the browse last week I would say it's gotten even worseI was wondering what could possibly be causing the milk to not only taste bad but continue to taste even worse? Oh and because we are not going to drink this would it be bad to use as yogurt or a soft cheese? Thanks for the help!
