Golden Gurnsey

For every reason I come up with as to why we should maybe get into Golden Gurnsey's , I can come up with 2 reasons why we shouldn't

Probably the biggest reason is that there are other things we would like to do with the farm besides dairy goats.

And, another reason is that there is a lot to be said for just focusing on Nigerians. There is a lot we can still do with them too.

OHHH I love my Guernseys! They have to be the sweetest goat breed ever! They are very mellow, when they talk to you it is soft and low, not irritating at all. If you go in with them be prepared to for a Guernsey to come up and follow you around, may not know they are even there unless they decide they need a head rub, which they will promptly do on your leg, in a gentle way. They have wonderful milk, are good producers on pasture, excellent mothers (too good if you ask me!) just try weaning them, ha, they will feed those kids a year later! And no they generally are not polled. Just look up treasured sunrise acres and see the pretty Guernsey with the mammoth horns??? Again, wonderful breed, if you have a chance at them go for it.

I need to pick your brain. We have access to some really good Alpines, Toggs, and Saanens if we wanted to start a breed up program.
