Ok did not know that. Appreciate the education and someone taking the time to say so.

So I guess I need to rephrase. Does any raise cattle on justa grass and water not grain or homes or vaccines?

Yup, thats how all the beef cattle are raised here. Well, they get hay as needed if theres pasture/grass issues (still working on improving that) but they are strictly grass/pasture/water unless necessity deems otherwise. No vaccines, hormones or anything. Theres cows in this herd over 20yrs old that do just fine.

Its a matter of culling for those who do not perform under your certain husbandry conditions. Of course, it does help to breed with genetics based on grass/forage (such as how I'm doing my dairy breeding).

But in order to go grass/pasture only, you need to make sure your pastures are up to par as well, that plays a huge roll. If you don't have good pasture, its gonna be tough to have even the best grass based genetic herd do well.
