I am on the line between do I want pigs or not and if I do which of the two breeds am I gonna get. I have two guinea hog breeders kinda close but the old spots I dont know where one is.
First I have to decide do I really really want to deal with them again.

we haven't had pigs since i was a child, about 20 years ago. but i have the fondest memories of raising them. i managed to block out all memory of the terrible hog barn method we were using, but i remember loving the piglets and, most importantly, loving getting to run the meat grinder! if you want to make a 5 year old's life, just let them at a hand-crank meat grinder. i thought it was the best thing EVER!

eta: somehow i typed goats instead of pigs and it made NO sense.

I have Old Spots and I love them. My oldest gilt is 15 months old and hopefully will be bred next month. My boar is 6 months and my other 2 gilts are 4 months old. They do great on pasture. They root occasionally but not like the feeder pigs we had.

I'm in NE Georgia.
