Most dogs go into heat at 6 months. Keep a close eye on them.

Are the great pryme a Pyrenees? If so, they can vary, a lot. My first female came in heat at 10 months. My second one came in heat at 18 months! I had come to think my second female was steril or maybe was fixed (I bought her as a 7 month old pup) and the previous owner didn't tell me. Anyway, my first female went through her third heat and 3 weeks later my second one came in heat also without me realizing it and she bred to my 10 month old male. Now she is carrying a litter that while not really undesired, it was definetaly not planned as I wanted to check their hips before breeding. Anyway, now I know she is fertile and will be on the lookout for the next heat. So my advice, after 6 months be on the lookout and don't let your guard down if they go over a year old and don't come in heat.
