My name is Heidi. I'm not just new to BYH forum but new to keeping livestock. I'm starting small just trying to get a handle on how things work. I have one goat, we believe is a kinder goat, and one sheep, a Shetland. They are both just under a year old and they came to us in October. I am enjoying them very much! :) I'm excited to learn and share.

Greetings and welcome to BYH Heidi :frow Thanks for sharing the picture :D =D we're all a bunch of picture addicts here, as you'll soon see when you look through the threads... We have a pretty active group of goat folk and sheeple here and they're all really great about helping when someone has questions or a problem. So don't be worried that you're a newbie, or concerned that your questions are "silly/stupid/simple/etc". Browse around the various threads in the forum and you'll pick up a wealth of shared info and knowledge, as well as "getting to know" some of the folks here. If you have any questions, just post away and you'll normally have a response in pretty short order. Glad you joined us & make yourself at home! :D

Great pic there! There are a few things to know about sheep and goats together that ya may not know. They have different dietary needs, and there are minerals, namely copper, that sheep can't have, but goats have to have. It is toxic to sheep. So, just be careful to read feed bags to see what they contain. Also, they would be happier for ya to add another of each when ya are able. Welcome from NW Mississippi!..:frow and the info in the Forums and Threads will really help ya on your Journey...:) again...:welcome
