Hello all, I’m thankful to have found another online support group! I recently joined Backyard Chickens after getting out first flock, and now we’ve added Giant Flemish rabbits to the fun! We homeschool our children, so having these hands-on experiences is exciting for the whole family!

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE TX! So glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me :old will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Welcome! I have wanted FG for years! We enjoy watching our wild cottontails in the yard. I see them sharing water and feed with our chickens. When I finally get too old for the goats I am going to get some FG !

Welcome to the forum. Many years ago I raised Satin rabbits. I had Siamese, white, black, chinchilla and red Satins. I had about 200-300 of them. I cooked rabbit more ways than I can even think of now. Bunny Burgers anyone?

You will enjoy your rabbits. The meat is delicious and they are so easy to keep. Glad to have you here!

Welcome from VA. No rabbits raised here -- few wild ones -- because I can't get past the "cute" to butcher them.:) Have goats & chickens galore. Milk the goats. A small herd of OLD mini horses, living out life.

Lots of most every kind of animal represented by someone and a whole lot of knowledge beyond animals is always available. Just ask. AND -- we love pictures. So line those bunnies up & share!

Hello and welcome to BYH!
We don't have rabbits either. Like MH, they are too cute and I'm not interested in eating them. So for me to keep them it just means more for me to do and clean up after.

Thanks for the warm welcome! We put a holding deposit down last week, ordered a hutch (Eglu) and then picked up the two rabbits today! I’ve attached pics of one of the bunnies when we picked them up (before you ask- yes, that’s a kilt:)), and when I take more pics I’ll post those as well! :woot
