If I understand correctly Chocolate and Lilac are both brown rabbits. The difference if color is D- intense to give Chocolate or dd dilute to give Lilac. Intense is dominant to dilute so a Chocolate rabbit might have a Lillac baby but not the other way around. I think...

The problem wth dilute colors (lilac and blue) is that they are diluted shades of the dominant color. To keep the color true you will have to occasionally reintroduce the dominant color. So every so many generations you will have to breed a dark brown to lilac and a black to blue, otherwise the colors will eventually become too diluted. There are books on color genetics for rabbits. I had one (it is packed with the rest of my livestock books LOL). Color genetics can be very complicated. However, since she is only planning on having a trio to start, get whatever colors you like and have fun.
