Last year we added 4 guinea fowl as free-rangers on the homestead. They laid a bunch of eggs (like 30), hatched 7 then left the nest with their chicks. My daughter in law noticed an 8th hatch with no support, so she brought all the eggs into the brooding box. 5 more hatched so far, 4 survived (as of this morning).
My question is this. The guinea fowls stay around all the other animals on the homestead (chickens and goats), should we just add the newly hatched chicks to the brood that are following mom around or should we just hand rear them with chick starter like we would chicken chicks?
Any experience with this?
Thanks,
Tony
