Hello from Ireland!

Hello! My name is Betsy, and I've recently gotten married and moved to the countryside of western Ireland. A few weeks ago I bought two dairy goats, one who is milking now, and her daughter whom we hope to get in kid soon!

I've been making fresh cheese and yogurt from Nanny's milk, and we also just drink it straight. My husband just made me a cheese press, though, so I'm hoping to try making some aged cheeses soon!

I also just got two hens, and I found this site through Backyard Chickens. I'm looking forward to gaining some goat wisdom and some new friends here. (I'm a writer and a teacher when I'm not milking, and am always delighted to talk about those things!)

It is! I use the whey from the cheese instead of water or buttermilk, and it works great.
