Holy crimeny! Look at that size difference! The Shetlands are like 1/2 the size or even smaller! I had no idea the difference was that great.

Yes, very good judgement, about a third of the size - my big girls are about 200lb and the wee'uns are about 60-70lb! Gets interesting at feed time, but the wee 'uns dodge and weave....!
I gather that Shetland size depends a bit on how hardy they have to be and in lush places (like southern England!) they can be twice the size. The weather etc near me is not far off that in Shetland (bit better). Are they a lot bigger in USA?

It is interesting how different parts of the world have different breeds for different climates. I think the U.S. lacks some of the lovely heritage breeds you have in Scotland, although we do have lots of Shetlands.

Yes, that is a goat! Tedi one of my baby angoras.
Having goats that are like sheep is kind of weird, I feel like I don't quite fit in with either goat or sheep people.

Oh no, let's not get started...I also have a donkey and mule...

We raise a few feeder pigs once a year.....so just add ig to that list.... LOL

I like donkeys and mules. I had a mule, but finally made the decision to sell her because she stomped the life out of anything that wasn't a horse.

Oops,how embarrassing - told you I had a lot to learn!! So that's what an angora looks like...she's lovely.

Yah, not sure how they developed the Angora rabbit, but it doesn't resemble the Eastern Cottontail that most rabbit species resemble. The Romans domesticated rabbits, so a long time to develop certain breeds.

I myself do not raise them, and as hot as mine can get in summer, I can't imagine having an angora coat. Maybe you shear them once it starts getting real hot. Idk.
