Not everyone has access to hunting, but still wants to provide meat for their family. If all you have is a backyard, rabbits make the perfect small livestock animal. For people that have been raised on Bambi and Walt Disney, shooting a deer is tantamount to murder. Those same people will sure eat a steak. calves are cute too! LOL

Yes, you could butcher a rabbit. If you raised them for meat and had a family that you put ahead of a cage of rabbits, then food for your family would be more important. We all do what we can to make better lives for our families. Like you said, rabbits are cute, but they sure are tasty too! LOL

It makes sense, I could just never imagine doing it myself! Calves are adorable, we never eat actual beef, we like to let the calves live!
