New here, and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer and my husband and I live with our three children in east Texas. We just bought two Nubian Pygmy goats about two weeks ago, and let me tell you, it was a challenge at first! In fact, for the first day or so, I hated them. lol ONLY because the little suckers managed to escape their pen three times in ONE day. And those guys can RUN! But, we have finally figured out the housing issues and I love watching them run and play! I do have a ramp built for them to play on and they love it. If anyone would like to offer any advice, it is welcome. :) I look forward to learning from this forum.

Welcome from KS! You'll get lots of good info here. They can be frustrating little beasts but oh, so adorable! We have a little Kiko/Boer mix who had a bad leg when we got her. (That's her, little and skinny, as my avatar.) She could get out of anything larger than chicken wire until she was about a year old. And could outrun us even on 3 legs. Her leg is fine now (although the name Tripod stuck) but she has finally gotten nice and round and can't get out as easily. Her head says YES but her belly says NO. Enjoy your goat-capades!

LOL That's pretty funny, MsDeb! Yeah we are enjoying them, now that I don't have to chase them all over the place!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!! I'll try to get a good pic of them later so I can post it!

Another welcome from North Central Texas! Sit back and relax with your goaties. They will have you trained in no time at all. Pictures are always a delight and appreciated.

Don't hesitate to ask any question. There taint a dumb question. If it is worrying you ask!

Ladies... join me in the refrain "where the stars at night are big and bright...... Deep in the heart of Texas"

Looking forward to hearing some of your goatie stories. Wait till your little does are bred and have their kids. Nothing like watching kids with human kids to make you wish you had more of both!
