I cannot tell a lie! The playset IS for them! I just didn't know how you all would react you know safety and all. Providing an unsafe environment is what I thought someone would say. Yes I realize, in the real world goats are very nimble climbers and such, hence the term "goat trail" for a barely passable road.
They LOVE it.Pontiac (the Alpine/Nigerian mix) owned it within 10 minutes! On his first time up top he got down on the slide!!!! He freaked but handled it upright and hit the ground running, then back to climbing up!!!

That play set is wonderful for them! The more climbing toys they have, the happier they'll be. Oh, and hopefully, the less trouble they'll get into ;) Your goats must think they died and went to heaven :D They're so cute! I was going to ask if any of them had used the slide yet  You may consider putting some heavy duty asphalt shingles (or something very rough/coarse) on the ramp to help them wear down their hooves... less trimming down the road for you!

OK, just as an aside, and I imagine you're aware, as a wether, Pontiac won't be able to breed the does, so you'll either need to take them to spend some time with a (functioning) buck to get them bred, or buy another buck to service them... otherwise, no babies, and no milk... What many do is have a buck to breed with and a wether to keep the buck company (AWAY from the does). Since you have Nigie does, they are year round breeders, so if you keep a functioning buck with them, they will breed like rabbits and you'll never know when they're due. Also, having does continuously pregnant is quite a stress on them (often they'll go back into season within 60 days after kidding). Most other breeds are fall breeders. A lot of folks here breed their does in August/September for Jan/Feb kids (no bugs - too cold). Since you're up in the cold north in NY, maybe breed them in Sept/Oct for Feb/Mar kids?

Thanks for sharing "happy goat" pictures!

Welcome from Northern Minnesota! I love the playset for them  My goats are very envious. :hide They do not get fun things because a choice couple are too clumsy and I kinda like them so we avoid unless supervised. Love the names by the way!
So in your opinion you don't think the playset is a good idea without supervision?

Yeah I banded Pontiac myself, because he is to large for breeding our nigerian ladies with, and I understand that "intact" bucks smell rather LOUD, and can be bullyish around children. We have a perspective breeder nearby that has a reputable stud nigerian that looks alot like ButterCup, we are looking to get them together in December.

Yours will probably be fine I just can't trust MINE  Just the two of mine aren't too bright and get into predicaments.
I just figure they know their limitations and HOPEFULLY won't try daredevil stuff. I, at first thought they would climb up and not be able to get down!!!
