New owner of a pair of backyard pygmy goats here! I look forward to reading and learning about them from this site!

I have had a flock of 12 backyard chickens for about a year and am now expanding my backyard “farm” to goats! So excited!

Welcome to BYH! This is a great place to learn about raising anything!

I also have chickens, and Nigerian Dwarf and Nubian milk goats! I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks! I am a COMPLETE newbie so I’m trying to read everything I can get my hands on. We will be keeping them as just pets. I don’t pick them up until next week so trying to soak up as much as I can before they come home! 2 boys, 1 is about 2 weeks old and the other was just born two days ago! My 7 daughters are just as excited as I am (and willing to help with bottle feeding so that’s a bonus) and my husband just loves me enough to let me have them (same with the chickens, lol). I’ll be keeping them in my utility room right outside my bedroom for a couple weeks since I will be bottle feeding and they’re still so young, but I’m excited for the adventure!

Greetings and welcome to BYH and goat ownership :clap It's always a special thing when a couple of goats finally decide they'll own you! ;) You'll understand soon enough  There are a bunch of really great goat folks here and a wealth of info available in the threads. Browse around and meet some of the folks. Jump in if you feel the call. Make yourself at home. Oh, one comment... please consider putting at least your general location in your profile. If you need or offer help, it's quite frequently dependent on where you are in the world. Different things for New England as opposed to TX... :)

Welcome from NW Mississippi!!....:frow
We have goats, chickens, ducks, and cats here. We have had our goats for 2yrs now and have learned a bunch ourselves. There are many decisions and situations to be faced as they grow, so never hesitate to ask a question....it may be nothing major, but we have all been there and are more than willing to assist ya with them all. Feel free to post any question, comment, or advice.....and pics that ya wish to share.
Again....:welcome
