Exploring the pasture
After lurking off and on for years I have finally joined! At the moment I have rabbits, but eventually would like to expand into sheep and chickens, and maybe a couple of donkeys. Nice to meet you all!
Hi there!! You will love it here! Everyone is soo nice and friendly...just like a big family.. I also have rabbits. What kind do you have? I’d love to see pictures and hear about them. Do you breed them? I have chickens....goats, ducks, goose, cockerels, pot belly pigs, feeder pig and dogs. It’s great! were glad you joined and can’t wait to get to know you! Welcome to BYH!
I have New Zea and Californias. Plus their crosses. Right now I have 20 rabbits, 6 kits and two rabbits due this week to kindle!! Lots of fur in their boxes! This show how their cages are set up in the barn for the winter. In the first you’ll see, my one rabbit, Uncle Geo, jumped on top all the hutches!!ugh! I guess I mostl showed you calis and the crosses..maybe tomorrow I can get better pictures!Hello!
I have Rex, Jersey Wooly, and mixed breeds - 20 total at the moment. I love Katahdin sheep - I eventually want a small herd of my own, though I’ve heard mixed reviews of how well they do in the Pacific Northwest.
I do breed the buns! The Rex will eventually be meat and fur rabbits, but right now they just are pets that supply lots of great fertilizer for the garden, haha. The Jersey Woolies are my little fiber bunnies and my favorites. I eventually want to get a couple French angoras and giant chinchillas as well. I also have a couple cats that love to hang out with the rabbits.
What kind of rabbits do you have?
and a few photos of the buns:
