Help..Does all goat milk taste so grassy?

I've been thinking hard about getting dairy goats, so I thought I should at least taste some from the store. I was amazed how grassy the aftertaste is; not terrible, but very distinct. I get the feeling that's just the way it is. Is this true?

Ooooh yuck!!!! Store bought goats milk is icky!!! My nubian milk tastes just like fresh cow's milk.

I agree storebught goats milk is SO nasty. My Nigie milk tastes just like raw cows milk only sweeter.

If store bought goat milk was all there was...there would be NO goats being raised for milk. That stuff is rank...

Try some fresh milk from someone w/ clean does / who keeps the milk clean.
Dirty milk will taste like whatever caused the dirt...mud, poo, buck, etc.

Store bought = YUCKY!!

Fresh = YUMMY!!

Go find yourself some fresh from a farm and you'll find a big difference!

Pasteurizing can bring out off tastes, too, and UHT is even worse. Raw all the way for me, baby!

Agreed! Store bought goats milk is gross!

Try again! From a good dairy farm!! You'll get milking goats for sure once you try some good goat milk!!!

Even fresh cows milk is not like what people buy in the stores...store milk just is'ant like a fresh glass of milk from a cow or a goat!!

Ewwwww i made that error once in trying milk for the store( Before i got my girls) OMG I thought i was going to die.... Milk from my girls is 100 times better than that stuff, no off taste no sour smell just sweet and thick yummy!!!! Oh and makes the best ice cream ever!!!


Find a clean Dairy and you'll see the difference....

I'm surprised you're still able to post after drinking store bought goats milk! That stuff is NASTY! Find yourself a knowledgeable breeder locally with some quality dairy goats and go drink some fresh goats milk. It's a bit creamier than cows milk but there shouldn't be any foul taste at all.

Gotta agree with this--I did the same thing & bought goat's milk at the store to get a 'taste' of what I was going to get from my does.
BIG MISTAKE! Real goat milk is yummy~
