I bought a female goat in October the lady told me she was possibly breed n not sure her due date
A few days ago she's not putting weight on her right back leg and not walking much I check her leg it seem fine she let he move it nothing was in her hoof I separated her from my herd and out her with a younger doe so she wasn't by her self the next day she's running on it like nothing is wrong I keep her with the younger doe n now she's not walking on it again I think she's close to kidding
I been feeding all my goats feed I buy at my local feed store loose mineral hay work them as they need and they just got there b12

Has this very happened to anybody else?

Greetings @klarie curole from the front range in Colorado :frow. :welcome! Sorry your goat issue brought you here but glad you joined. I don't have my goats yet, so I'm just guessing... I'm sorry, but the only picture that really shows both rear legs is the first one & it's too blurry for me to zoom in and look closely. From what I can see, it looks like the right rear leg is swollen, or turned outward. She may just be suffering from pressure against nerves from the kids inside. I'll tag a few goaties and hope maybe they can help better/more. They may need better pictures from better angles...

If it comes and goes and she acts fine otherwise my guess would be pressure on the sciatic nerve. I would just watch her, she is definitely bred and pretty far along from the looks of it. Good luck, hope you get some cute healthy kids and welcome to BYH.

Agree with babsbag- If nothing is swollen or hot then it is probably the nerve.

My farm partner has a doe that had quads last year... the bigger she got the worse the one leg, even turns out like your doe.
This year same thing... she looks like trips or quads again.

Your doe is quite large and looks like she has quite a few in there... more than likely just a nerve BUT also when they are that huge they can easily injure their leg... so double check for swellin and see if any hot areas.

and Welcome to BYH! :)

Hi and welcome!!

Glad to hear the vet thinks she is okay. Does she seem to be limping or just laying down a lot? Looks like you should be having some kids bouncing around there soon.

Her leg just turns out she walks a lil bit each day but she prefers to lay down I Make her walk to her feed n hay n I let her free range in my yard everyday n Give her stuff out our garden when she don't wanna free range anymore she goes back in her pen by her self n goes lay on her hay I put on the ground for her to lay on

I can sympathize with her this late in pregnancy. There's a LOT in there ...babies weight, fluids, placenta, extra milk....she is carrying a real load!! Things stretch but, also all the extra in there pushes into/against all the other guts & organs. Even eating is in small amounts because of the above. YES, she lays around because she is tired and uncomfortable. Yes, aches & pains. These girls go through a lot.

You were right to call the vet to be sure.:hugs

Won't be long before she has beautiful bouncing kids and will be back to here own self....Give her some extra back massages.
