8 total on the slide doesn't sound like many. Do this for us. Your camera seems good. Tomorrow take a picture of her gums and or her inner eyelids. "If" she has a high load of barberpole worms and she looks like that, she should probably be anemic. I'm expecting her to be. If she is... Rolls or 20kids has great instructions on how to pull her back to healthy.

She said 8 times that amount. So not just 8 on the slide.

If you are trying to use FAMACHA to see her Barberpole load, you do know that fecals work better than that right? FAMACHA is good but fecals tell you exactly what it is. And the gums tell you nothing. Eyes do more than that and you can't always depend on them. Some goats just have lighter eyes and some darker. I've seen goats that had pailer eyes on day and the next they had screaming red eyes. So gums are not worth it, eyes are ok, but fecals tell you everything.

Ok,I compared my pics side by side with the ones at the fias site and I could tell right away they were a perfect match. My poor little goat. How did I end up taking in such a sick goat?I have said no to so many. How did I manage to probably get the sickest one I could find?I am very blessed that I do has the time and means to treat her.I have to remember that. Now,forward I go.I need to know what ivermectin to give her.I'm planning on giving red cell if needed.I have injectable ivomec and I have pour-on eprinex.I think its the injectable but do I give it orally or inject? How much for a 50 pound doe?Should I give her red cell at the same time? How much?I would like to do it tonight if anybodys still around to give me the dosages or tell me where to find them.I'm gonna have to find some way to really thank everyone for their help.It means so much I don't really know how to say how much it means to me.

I have no experience with Red Cell so I can not help you there. If she weighs 50 pounds give her 1.5cc's of Ivermectin 1% Injection for Cattle and Swine. If you have Ivermectin Plus that's fine too. Give it to her orally and give her 1.5cc's.

Of course.

I'm sure some of the more experienced goat people will chime in later. They should help you with the Red Cell and how to really get her healthy and on her feet. I've never really had a sick goat so I don't know alot of what to do. I do know alot about worming and fecals though. Hope she gets better and has a good life. Keep us all updated on her please.

hard to tell from the pics, but the poles look a bit different on some of the eggs, if 400X you see more "cell like structures" in the egg than thats thread neck. When you count you must start at the corner of the slide and go down, over, up, over., down, etc. you are counting the whole slide. You won't get a complete accurate idea without weighed poop, measured solution, timed float etc.
Worm heavily this time! She looks pretty bad. Famacha is only for Barberpole.

Good Luck!
