Sooooo the breeder I got Ginger and Nutmeg called and has two more goats for sale.. Two of his best a doe (tri) approximate 2 years.. Bred and her doeling (black snd wite) born in Oct... So now I have decisions to make...
First..do I buy them?! Lol
Second.. He says she's probably bred. Is that possible with just having her in Oct?
Third... They are asking $200.00 more than the first two?!
Fourth...do I have to quarantine if they all were together until November when I purchased them?!
Fifth..do I need more goats so soon?!?! Lol.
Ahhhhh !!!
He reached out to me...otherwise I was waiting until after ultrasound on Wednesday to make any decisions... I've offered $100 less than asking price... I'm hoping I didn't offend. ...
So any opinions are welcome!!!! Thank you. :)

Ummmm there seems to be a bit of confusion in your post... Maybe I'm reading it wrong? Initially you ask:

First..do I buy them?! Lol
...Fifth..do I need more goats so soon?!?! Lol.

followed by a statement:

I've offered $100 less than asking price... I'm hoping I didn't offend. ...

followed by another question:

So any opinions are welcome!!!! Thank you. :)

In essence, I believe you've already answered your own question and proceeded along the chosen course! LOL

I believe it's possible that she could be re-bred as they can come into heat after kidding. I'm not sure however. Anyone?

I have to agree wholeheartedly with @animalmom 's statement(s) above... the bathroom can be an overpowering need... and the tri really is awful pretty ;)

Hope it works out for you! Oh, and as for the quarantine issue? Maybe keep separated for a day or two just till they can all become reacquainted (and make sure there's no issues) but after that, they are originally from the same herd and haven't been apart that long. Goats have pretty long memories.

Yes im so sorry. I'm terribly all over the place. I haven't decided what to do yet and we haven't agreed on a price. Just figured I'd try for as many opinions as I could before jumping in and agreeing to buy them.. He wasn't 100% that wife was convinced to sell.. I think this is why he gave a high price... But not sure... Thank you so much and I'm just full of scatter brained..nerves, excitement, etc... :)

If you can get them at a price acceptable to you (and the seller), I'd say go for it, but then I don't have mine yet and have been called a bit of an enabler  It seems to me you have the room for a few more. Just remember, pregnant means more are already on the way so 2 more could mean you'll have 8-10 in no time at all! :old:clap See? That last seemed completely contrary to enabling! ;) :hide

We have many enablers here...;) If you can afford it, and you have the space and housing, 4 aren't much harder to keep than 2. Lol - of course, this reasoning might get you into trouble. Not that anyone around here knows about that...:hide

That's the same reasonable rational explanation I give to DH, and he doesn't seem to agree. I can't imagine why. If 2 goaties eat mostly browse, and hardly cost anything at all to care for, then 4 or 5 or 10 won't cost much more. ;) After all, they eat mostly browse, I've already bought the grain, etc., and won't need more for quite a while-months, actually-and we get hay cheap from the horse farm where the boys work. Chickens cost practically nothing in upkeep, you just give them all of the leftovers, and let them loose on the bugs. A small backyard farm is super cheap, really. DH sits there with that "mmm-hmm" nod and then quietly shakes his head. I think it's his concern that I really have lost my mind, more than expense that makes him say no. If I have to be institutionalized, who will take care of all the animals? Bless his heart.:plbb
