A sudden change in behavior can be a sign that they are very close. Or not. Goats are notorious liars!

Read about ligaments on www.fiascofarm.com. This can be a reliable clue. Or not. See above, goats are liars.

The ligaments will feel like two pencils that go diagonally out from the spine, near the tail. You can find them easily by feeling firmly with your fingertips a couple of inches out from the spine in that area, then explore the shape and direction of this pair of "pencils" so you are very familiar with what they feel like.

When she is within 12 hours (usually....see above, goats are liars!) you will notice the ligaments softening and "disappearing" as they get so soft you can't find them. You might also feel like you can put your fingers completely around her spine just in front of her tail, as everything goes soft so as to allow her bones to move to allow the baby to get out. Sort of.

Make sure your camera is charged and ready to go!

Keep a good eye on her, but judging from her udder and appearance, I'm going to say she has a couple weeks left to go, or at the very least a few days. It's not nearly full. I wouldn't just let her go and not watch her though, because she could fill up at the last minute while she's having them.

I agree with Ariel - I think you've got a little bit yet soley based on her udder. But then again - some does don't completely bag up until the day before or even day of kidding.

My doe got VERY lazy 2 weeks before kidding. I only knew it was time when she started really stretching out, gazing into nothing and hunching over when she had mild contractions.

Good luck!!
