I have been trying to come up with a unique herd name but have a concern. What if you are submitting your request to multiple registries (1st and 2nd choices) and you are given different ones because your 1st choice is already taken? Do you end with a goat that has two different names (prefixes) depending on the registry? Has anyone ever had this happen?

I already have tattoo of 1SMC (my daughter's initals) thru ADGA. So I was thinking of finding a herd name her same initals. I will have mini nubians and possibly dwarf nigerians. I was thinking SweetMiniCapra or StarMadeCaprine(15 letters and spaces max) What do you think? Any other ideas?

Yes. We started with an AGS herd name of One Acre Farm. Our tattoo was OF When we registered with ADGA One Acre Farm was already taken, so we picked the name One Fine Acre. Tattoo with ADGA is still OF

So, when you register a goat it's AGS registration name prefix is One Acre Farm and it's ADGA registration is One Fine Acre for the same goat?

Are you allowed to use other symbols other than letters like could I do Sweet'M Caprine?

We don't register AGS anymore, just ADGA. We don't see any benefit to registering with multiple registries.

I just sold two does who are triple registered and possibly bred. I'm telling you with all the Bill of Sales, Service Memos, and Certificates or Registrations each goat comes with her own book!
