I have never seen hay over 4.00 a bale here, I use the 4x5 round bales on our goats and the love it. They sell for about 20 dollars a roll here, I just had a fella come and cut our fields, he got 40 rolls for just doing the work. If I had the equipment it would be great but you'd have to sell a lot of $20 rolls to come up with the 25K it would cost to buy a used mower, rake, fluffer and baler, that is if you could find it used for that price

I also need the alfalfa for milk production. I don't have irrigated or level land so growing my own is a non-option. Expensive hobby.
