Any breed will be good for brush clearing.

It'll take a while for them to get used to the sounds of the shooting range next door, so be patient.

Never too late to get a goat ;)

This is the time of year many people are overwhelmed by extra bucklings (wethers). I bet you can find some nice little guys to help you brush cut. I would pick older big and healthy weaned boys, the little ones won't do alot of brush cutting this year.

If you want a nice dual purpose breed, you could look into Kikos... they are a meat breed, and they bulk/beef up strictly on browse.

If you don't care if they are of unknown breed percentages... then I suggest checking on Craigslist and in feed stores like TSC & Blue Seal for posts from people giving goats away. ;) we got 5 of our starter herd on Craigslist. You might even find someone looking to thin out their CAE positive herd... if you know how to manage it, and are willing/able to, then it would be a perfect fit. :)

Edited To Add: Where in southern NH? I am from the Swanzey area(now live in the Ossipee area), and there is another member who lives in Derry, and one who lives in Barnstead.

Welcome! :frow I would think they would have a hardtime getting use to the firing range. That might be difficult. But they maybe great. Any breed will browse...so it depends on what you like. And for bottle babies...Ive never had social issues with dam raised...but I spend alot of time socializing with them...so it depends on the farm you get them from. Good luck in your search and welcome!!!
